Just as Jesus invites us to “come and see,” the best way to get to know the St. Peter’s community is to experience it firsthand. Join us for worship on Sunday.

  • What kind of church is St. Peter’s?

We are a Christian community in the Episcopal tradition—rooted in ancient worship, open to thoughtful questioning, and grounded in love and service.

  • Where are you located?

We’re at 925 Mitchell St., at the corner of Prince and Mitchell. Parking is available in our lot and across the street at Conway Junior High.

  • What time is Sunday worship?

We worship on Sundays at 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., with Holy Communion offered at both services. The 8:30 service uses traditional Rite I language, while the 11:00 service includes music and follows the more contemporary Rite II liturgy. The 11:00 service is live-streamed on Facebook.

  • What should I wear?

You’ll see everything from jeans to business casual—and everything in between. Come as you are.

  • Do you have programs for children and youth?

Yes! Children are always welcome in worship. The Nursery opens at 9:45 a.m. for children up to age 4, and kids 5 and up are invited to Sunday School. A youth group for middle and high schoolers meets twice a month on Sundays.

  • Will I be singled out as a visitor?

Not at all. You’ll be warmly welcomed, but never pressured. You’re free to observe, participate, or simply take it all in.

  • What are the sermons like?

The preaching at St. Peter’s is grounded in scripture and guided by the Revised Common Lectionary. Sermons tend to be about ten minutes long.

  • What is the Episcopal Church?

The Episcopal Church is a part of the worldwide Anglican Communion. We value scripture, tradition, and reason, and welcome people with diverse beliefs and backgrounds.

  • What do Episcopalians believe?

Episcopalians share a core Christian faith centered on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. We don’t require uniformity of belief—questions and honest seeking are part of our spiritual life.

  • What is Communion, and can I receive it?

Communion is a sacramental meal of bread and wine that recalls Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection—an expression of his love for us. All are welcome to receive, regardless of background or church membership.

  • What’s your approach to the Bible?

We take scripture seriously, not always literally. We believe the Bible is inspired by God and best understood in conversation with tradition, reason, and lived experience.

  • Do you welcome LGBTQ+ people?

Yes, fully and without exception. LGBTQ+ people are welcome in all areas of our life together, including marriage and ordained ministry.

  • What do you mean by “liturgy”?

Liturgy is our word for worship. It means “the work of the people,” and involves readings, prayers, music, and sacrament in a shared, participatory rhythm.

  • How can I get involved?

There are lots of ways—from helping with worship or outreach, to small groups, to just showing up regularly. Start by saying hello or filling out a visitor card.

  • Do I have to be a member to participate?

No. You’re welcome to worship, receive Communion, and take part in ministries whether or not you’re formally a member. Classes are offered each year about membership and confirmation.

  • How can I support the church financially?

You can give in person, by mail, or online. Every gift sustains the mission and ministries of St. Peter’s. On the first Sunday of each month, the loose offering supports the priest’s discretionary fund, providing assistance to those in need.
